Based in Utrecht, Jazzalike Bigband has been swinging since 2001. Their repertoire consists of a mix that ranges from jazz and traditional big band to intimate ballads and danceable funk grooves. The band consists of five saxes, four trombones, four trumpets, a tight rhythm section and an enthusiastic band leader. Often supplemented by an amazing singer.

There will be soup and snacks for the hungry ones!

On the first party we have the pleasure to welcome The North Sea Dreammakers! A young, local and eager big band ready to give it all to us!

North Sea Dreammakers is a big band that focuses on the 30’s style of jazz formed in 2024 by Sam Ghezzi, Pablo Castillo and Pepijn Mouwen.
A band based in Amsterdam and composed by an all-star young musicians lineup that strive to give new significance and revive a genre of music that is compatible with the modern times and audience.
Their repertoire is based on transcriptions and adaptations of tunes of the greatest composers of that era (e.g. Duke Ellington in his early years); a whole set of music ready to amuse a varied audience.

Welcome to the main event of the festival: THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2.0!

Here are the contenders:

First, THE FRIED SEVEN will be back at it again!

Based in Amsterdam, the Fried Seven knows how to make you move! Syncopated, delightful, youthful and virtuous, they work their way through a marvelous repertoire only to make us DANCE. And they come back once again to prove they ARE the hottest band in town.
This septet is united by their passion for early jazz and they make sure that everyone around them can feel it.

And 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 on the other side of the ring: THE ROARING CATS!
The battle is ON for a second round!

For those who do not know The Roaring Cats are a promising young band based in Amsterdam with an original repertoire and arrangements from the 30s and 40s. On top of that, they are presenting original compositions in style. Swell notes for hyperactive swing dancers.
The show they put on is a must watch/dance every time they hop on a stage.

Last year, officially we did not pronounce a winner. But this year will be different and both bands are coming to get the prize! 🏆
